Chain:
Hanging lights come with 1 metre of chain included
in the price, finished to match the light unless
specified otherwise. Extra chain can be supplied
at an additional charge. We generally supply open-link
(unwelded) chain with our hanging lights because
it is more user-friendly: the length can be shortened
if necessary by opening the links with pliers. If
specified, however, welded chain can be supplied
along with 2 'S' hooks, one for each end. This type
of chain has to be cut using a hacksaw to be shortened.
Please note, we no longer
sell chain separately without lanterns..
Flex:
All our lights are supplied with black flex as standard
(see Letter C on the Flex page.
The other flexes shown on the same page are also
available for the UK and mainland Europe, but must
be specified at the time of ordering. For the USA
and Canada, and countries with the same electrical
requirements, we can currently supply only black
SPT1 or SPT2 lamp-and-fixture wire with an unsheathed
earth wire as standard. However we are now able
to offer 3 Core round Black or White plastic flex,
or clear flex with silver wire on view. Please confirm
on order. As for the length of flex, we will allow
for 1 metre more than the length of chain ordered,
unless instructed otherwise.
Ceiling
canopies:
Please remember to order ceiling canopies (roses)
with your hanging lights because they are not included
in the lantern price. For a selection, some of which
are available in more than one size, see the canopies
page. If necessary, we will be happy to recommend
a style and size to suit a particular light. These
ceiling canopies are supplied with an internal mechanism
that bears the weight of the lantern and both facilitates
and conceals the electrical connections (for drawings
of how these mechanisms work, see the Canopies page.
We can supply fixing screws for the canopy ceiling
plate, but we must know the length and type of screw
required (if you are not sure, please tell us what
type of joist, say, the canopy will be mounted to).
We cannot stress strongly enough the importance
of ordering ceiling canopies at the same time as
lanterns; if ordered at a later date, it is considerably
more difficult to match the colour/finish and will
obviously lead to some delay in your lantern's installation
