Wind Chains | CHARLES EDWARDS

Wind Chains

Wind Chain illustration

For particularly exposed exterior locations such as porches, verandas and pergolas, hanging lanterns can be adapted for use with a wind chains to minimise any movement of the fixture in the wind.

A hanging lantern with wind chains will minimise any swinging or twisting movement of the lantern in the wind. All chain can be amended in length onsite as required.

The lantern design is modified to include loops for the wind chain to attach to, with the wind chains acting as anchors for the lantern.

Each specified design will be reviewed individually by our design team to modify the frame as required to ensure suitability. Different lantern shapes may suit different numbers of wind chains.

Wind Chain Fixing Plates

Generally, the wind chain fixing plates should be equally spaced on the wall, or ceiling to create a similar angle between the chains axes (i.e. 90° for 4 chains). Wall fixing plates should be perpendicular to the lantern and ceiling fixing plates should be installed as far as possible from the lantern.

We offer a standard round wind chain fixing plate which measures 3 inches/ 76mm diameter. Alternatively, you can request a custom design. Please let us know if you plan to fix to the ceiling or wall and the surface you are fixing to.
